Somuga, an animation company based in the Basque region of Spain, wanted a fully open source website to feature their cartoon, the HowOldies.

The Problem

Somuga wanted to use HTML 5, a new HTML standard in web development, to present the site. They needed the site to be presented in three language, including English, Spanish, and Basque. The complex site designs, which they created in Photoshop, also posed some unique challenges to coding the site in Joomla 1.7.

The Solution

Thanks to new features in Joomla 1.7, including template styles, support for HTML 5, and improved language support, the site was able to be constructed exactly according to Somuga's specifications.

The HowOldies website was featured as the October 2011 website case study of the month in the Joomla Community Magazine.
